There’s a certain irony about having the last name Hair and going bald. Tough during the dating years, for sure, but an easy conversation starter later, when you build your professional career.

More iconic than ironic, so to speak.

I started this blog as a “Ross on Real Estate” soap box to throw in my two cents on the real estate industry.  

My main interest revolves around the investment segment of the residential real estate industry. 

In particular, I like the niche area where new ideas and new business models start to disrupt our industry and claim market share.

Right now, this is the space dominated by institutional investors and prop tech disruptors. They account for hundreds of thousands of deals each year – and I want in on the action.

I enjoy figuring out their business models, but what I really, really like is figuring out is how to partner with each new player and capture some of their deal flow either as a broker or as an investor.

That’s the sweet spot of the hot spot for me, where innovation meets the closing table. 

It’s fun to talk about disruption or new business models, but what I really want to know is how we all get a nice, big slice of the $13 billion commission pie.
